MAGNETIC GEARS
MAG SOAR’s magnetic gears are able to produce reduction ratios from 1 to several hundreds by means of magnetic teeth.
In contrast to conventional gears, MAG SOAR`s magnetic gears do not present contact between teeth, therefore eliminating the requirement of lubrication, suppressing wear and minimizing maintenance. The gear is completely free of lubrication and suffers no wear. In case that the maximum torque is passed over the axle simply clutches, but nothing breaks down.
It is also reversible: it can reduce but also multiply the velocity. It can also go clockwise or anticlockwise. Ratio, maximum torque, stiffness and damping can be customized. Even more, it can be also customized to be directed or inverted (inverting the sense of the rotation). A low noise level, through-wall capabilities and the ability for damping torsional vibrations are also remarkable features of this kind of devices.

MAG SOAR’s superconducting levitation systems can provide low consumption solutions for contactless mechanical devices that must operate at very low temperatures like those mounted on space satellites or cryogenic systems and flywheel systems.
MAG SOAR´s superconducting magnetic bearings reach higher stiffness and higher load capabilities thanks to an innovative manufacturing process of the superconductors and an optimized magnet configuration.
Different models have been designed for different specific applications. The analysis and design process developed by MAG SOAR´s magnetomechanical engineers permits to dimension quickly the size, weight and materials for customized requirements.

New world record in magnetic gear reduction: OPTIMAGDRIVE

Optimagdrive has currently achieved the highest reduction ratio ever reached by a magnetic drive. Besides, MAG SOAR engineers have managed to reduce the system weight maintaining high torque levels. This achievement confirms that this passive magnetic technology is ready to replace traditional mechanical gears in applications where the lack of contact and the cnosistent absence of lubricant requirements could be critical.
